We are working with a leading New Zealand based Coal Mining Operator who have the need for a Mine Planning Superintendent for a key role at their thriving open cut coal operation.

The main functions of this position will include:
* Leading a skilled team to reach objectives and targets
* Management of short term mining engineers
* Development of schedules and mine budgets
* Production of work schedules
* Close liaison with fellow members of the technical services team
* Ensuring that all working practices are conducted in a safe manor at all times and in adherence to company procedure

To be considered for this role you will have:
* A bachelor degree or BSc/MSc in Mining Engineering
* A proven track record in a similar role
* High level exposure to the open cut mining environment (preferably in coal)
* Expert knowledge of mine planning software
* An autonomous approach to your work
* Outstanding planning skills
* Above average communication and interpersonal skills
