Senior Mining Engineer

RecruitR is currently assisting our client in attracting a Senior Mining Engineer to one of thier operations in South East Asia. This position is based at a large open cut coal mine and is offered on a FIFO roster.

In this pivotal role you will be reporting to the Technical Services Manager and will be:

* Working closely with the nationals to develop short term (daily & weekly) mine plans
* Providing support, leadership and guidance to national engineers
* Ensuring maximum recovery of the coal in the safest manner possible

This is a challenging role at a large site. Due to the magnitude of this position the following requiremnts are essential:

* Tertiary qualifications in Mine Engineering
* Solid experience in open cut coal mining
* Recent expereince in a short-term planning role
* Experience with mining software packages
* Previous experience in a mentoring role
* Strong communication & interpersonal skills
* An ability to do an extended FIFO roster

This is a good opportunity to gain expat experience.
