Oreion Mining: Senior Open Pit Geologist

Internationally recognised gold miner is currently into the final construction stages of an open pit gold mine located in Asia and is looking to appoint a senior open pit geologist.

Reporting to the Chief Geologist and supervising a team of national geologists you will be primarily responsible for assisting in the set-up, implementation and training of open pit geological systems and procedures, including grade control, reconciliation and geological modeling.

The site is located in challenging terrain with site facilities still in construction supplying only basic accommodation. Departing from either Cairns or Brisbane you will operate a 16 days on, 12 days off FIFO roster.

The successful applicant will require a solid background in open pit mine geology having previously operated at a senior level. Prior gold experience and the ability to effectively train and mentor others will be highly regarded.

Salary will be negotiated on an individual basis dependent on relevant experience.
