Yandicoogina is a fly in fly out operation located approximately 84km northwest of Newman, in the East Pilbara region of Western Australia. Yandi's total iron ore output has reached 52 million tonne per annum and is set to increase even further. Facilities at the mine's campsite include a gymnasium, indoor cricket pitch, swimming pool, tennis facilities, golf putting green squash courts, wet mess, dry mess and laundry facilities.
Reporting to the Mine Production Superintendent, this important role will provide technical support to the production department with the aim of improving the mine's performance with efficiency and cost effectiveness in a safe manner.
Key accountabilities of the role include but are not limited to:-
* Co-ordinating and providing technical support to the production department
* Ensuring efficient/cost effective utilisation of plant and other resources
* Undertaking technical and operational improvements
* Managing multiple projects
* Monitoring and reporting of performance against plans and budget
* Assisting the planning department
You will have tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering or a related discipline and ideally hold an Unrestricted Quarry Managers Certificate. With a solid background from within the mining environment you will preferably had previous exposure to Short Term Planning and experience as a Production Supervisor. Knowledge of large scale open pit mining techniques and computer literacy in mine planning software is also required.
